The Background
Redesigning Disability Rights Colorado website to:
- be more accessible
- help users understand the site’s purpose is
- create a more intuitive path for people with disabilities to seek help
*This was part of a competition initiative (Accessibility Internet Rally) to make the digital world more accessible to people with disabilities.*
The Problem
People with disabilities struggle to understand and access a service designed to help them.
Imagine being a person with a disability seeking legal help to find that:
- You don't understand what this organization does
- You can’t find the information or help you need
- If you rely on assistive technology, you are unable to easily navigate the website.
This puts a burden on the organization, diverting time and operational costs to field questions instead of addressing crucial legal issues.
